"Using WiFi is difficult and unreliable to use. Clearly it’s not something I would depend on. Documentation and support is woeful. OK product for tech nerds, but a disaster for normal people. This device is poorly engineered and oversold with misleading hype. Lesson learned is to use the downloading application and save whatever documents one wants to keep on devices that are reliable and understood."

Boots up fine and is

"Boots up fine and is accessible by wifi. The UI is a little janky but overall fine. There are serious security issues. The device broadcasts the wifi ID "PrepperDisk" and the wifi network is not password protected. Changing the wifi ID and setting a password requires work at the command line level. It should be easy to make these changes in the regular menu system. This presents obvious security risks."

A Cut Above the Rest

"There are a lot of off grid and offline preparedness options out there. I have tried a lot of them. The Prepper Disk stands out as the best of them because you connect to it via WIFI. Its incredibly diverse in content type but it also has depth! Not to mention you can add your own stuff to it!!"

"The Prepper Disk is a great tool and works well. No issues getting it up and running easily. The ability to add additional USB drives for additional data storage is a big plus. I am using a 1TB external USB hard drive to store movies, music, and additional books as an “entertainment” additional to the system. Very pleased so far."

This is something I will

"This is something I will use a lot. I homeschool and like that I still have access to skills, books, and knowledge if the internet goes down… which it does strangely often where we live. It seems like most things that I could ever want. The only thing that I would add are recipes. The books seem thorough and unbiased (banned books are not excluded) classics from religion and philosophy to 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea. A fantastic library that can be downloaded. I haven’t tried a read aloud app, but likely could be used. I bought a second one for my dad."
